Neighbours have come and gone…

25 years ago, over the course of the May Bank Holiday Weekend, Household Linens packed up all their stock and moved to their present location at 118 Oliver Plunkett St. If anyone knows where those 25 years have gone – please let us know ! We plan to celebrate by giving away some great prizes with great offers across all our bedding ranges so do stay tuned in to our Facebook page and ‘Like’ to be kept informed. Having opened our doors in 1990 we want to be around for another 25 years with your help ! 🙂

Sadly, many of our neighbours haven’t lasted the course… 😦 We remember good neighbours & friends like “Young Ireland” schoolwear & “Regency Interiors”, “Acme Blinds” & “O’Connor Shoes”… Others have just had an identity crisis ! Our closest neighbours in “The Oliver Plunkett” bar were previously known as “Scotts of Caroline St.” and before that “The Black Bush” but it’s always a lively spot as is “The Ovens Bar” across the road, previously named “The Ovens Tavern”; that was back in the day when trams left the nearby yards for all points west.

All aboard for Household Linens 25th. Anniversary Sale !

We have some great memories of 1990… First of all, we had a heatwave that summer, the first really good summer in many many years. Then of course we had Italia 90 (and who can forget that penalty shoot-out!), Mary Robinson was elected President, another President – Melson Mandela visited Ireland, Cork won the double in hurling & football (c’mob the Rebels), the Irish One Pound Coin was introduced and “The Field” starring Richard Harris was released. We would love to hear of your stories and memories of that year so why not share them with us on our Facebook page and we might even give a prize for the best story !
